“What is a crystal?”
Well, a crystal is, generally, a naturally occurring mineral whose atoms form a regular ordered, or structured, pattern. This regular atomic structure gives rise to a particular shape or shapes. They are often found in clusters or indeed geodes.
The shapes of crystals are naturally occurring, unlike the shapes of a lot of gemstones that are minerals (including crystals), rocks, and even some organic material (such as Amber) that have been cut into particular shapes for use in jewellery.
A lot of people are interested in their properties. Throughout time individuals and societies have believed that certain minerals and crystals have beneficial effects and have vested meaning in these beautiful things. Many people to this day purchase stones because of that. A range of healing and other therapies, such as Reiki, indeed rely upon particular minerals and crystals.
I stock a lot of crystals in my Online Shop which some people buy just because of their natural beauty but others buy them because of their interest in the properties.
